Breaking Cat News Wiki

Elvis Puffs Out: A Breaking Cat News Adventure is the fourth installment in the BCN Archives, released on October 6th. This book made an appearance in the July 15th and 16th strips. Elvis was not happy to hear about the archives.

Background information[]

In the comments for the October 7, 2020 comic,[1] the following information was posted about the book's contents:

“Elvis Puffs Out” is out. It collects the web comics (pre-newspaper days) from February 18 to July 28, 2016, and includes the major arcs of The Finding of Beatrix and The Legend of the Golden Mouse (a/k/a The Coming of the Wicked).
What remains uncollected (so far) are a short web-run when Georgia was practicing getting into the rhythm of a daily newspaper strip. These ran from August 1 to August 19, 2016 (generally comprising of The Great Ham Mystery—with unrelated Sunday pages) and the announcement of the Station Break. After that, there was the November 28, 2016 “Lighting Adjustment” that allowed us to see Pucky in all his true black glory (instead of a dark gray); the Our IX Lives Christmas Special (from December 14 to December 25, 2016); and the last two web pages on March 25 & 26, 2017, leading up to the first newspaper strip on March 27.
I hope these uncollected web comics get reprinted somehow….possibly as an intro to the first collection of newspaper strips? (Hint, hint.)
While I believe we will soon get to re-live the Christmas Special, it will be tough to get The Great Ham Mystery into current continuity: it features as the lead detectives Puck (as Sherlock Holmes) and Lupin (as Watson)—these were pre-Goldie days when they didn’t have a resident detective. I suppose it could be told in the newspaper strip now as, perhaps, a flashback story that Puck tells to Goldie.
